There are two popular ways to travel between the holy cities.
Haramain high-speed train
Fast, but you still need transport between your hotel and the station at both ends, and you carry luggage through the station.
Private car or van
A private transfer takes about 4.5 hours door to door. Your driver collects you at your Makkah hotel and drops you at your Madinah hotel, with stops for prayer and rest whenever you need.
Which is better?
For families with luggage, elderly pilgrims and groups, a private transfer is usually simpler and often costs less per person. Solo travellers with light bags may prefer the train.
