Straight from Jeddah to Madinah
Some pilgrims prefer to visit Madinah first and perform Umrah afterwards. If your flight lands in Jeddah, a private taxi can take you directly to Madinah — about 420 km, usually around 4 hours 15 minutes. You stay in the same car with your luggage the whole way, and the driver drops you at your hotel near Masjid an-Nabawi.
Why go to Madinah first?
- You can rest after the flight in calm surroundings before the crowds of Makkah.
- You enter ihram later at the miqat on the way from Madinah to Makkah.
- It often matches return flights from Jeddah at the end of the trip.
